My grandma passed away...

It been long time since my last post.

In my previous 2 posts, I wrote that my 4th aunt(mother's side) had passed @ 23th November due to lung cancer. Similarly, my 94years-old grandma had diagnosed with lung cancer and had passed away at 6th August 2011 at 8.35pm.

Initially, she was fine but fell down and broke/sprained her spine early this year. Therefore, she was admitted to NUH. That was when I had visited her again after last year lunar new year. I got shocked! She had became extremely skinny皮包骨, and lost most her memory. She was only able to recognise her 6 children who were my uncles, aunties and my dad. Others, she either named them wrongly or shake her head saying "I don't know".

The lunar new year had arrived again. We paid her a visit at the hospital. She was still in bed and couldn't sit up due to her spine's condition. But she was cute...she said "Come again next time"下次再来. You know, elder people are superstitious...shouldn't wish the person to come to hospital again. 欢迎到医院呀!

Weeks later, the hospital gave my dad a call. The hospital had run through a few test and had told us that my grandma was suffering from 4th stage lung cancer. Same as my aunt(mother's side)! After more weeks, she was forced to discharge due to shortage of beds. And here come the problems...

She was unable to walk, difficult in breathing and a pile of medicines. After some family discussion among my dad's sibling, they had decided to send her to Hospi and then nursing home. The nursing home was near to my house. My dad visit her almost every night including weekend.

On 5th August, my dad received a call from the doctor telling that my grandma was in a bad state. Hence, she was only able to live not more than 3days. Then, the doctor provided us 2 options:
1) Leave her at there and continue to provide medicine
2) Bring her home with oxygen tanks & let her pass peacefully...we chose this!

We brought her home and placed her on the bed. Meanwhile, she kept removing the oxygen tube which made her uncomfortable. Oxygen tube removed...put back...removed..
put back...repeating.

The next day, some of the relatives came and visit her. And I went out...

At 8.45pm at 6th August (Sat), I received a call and was informed that my grandma had passed away. I rushed back home and arrived at 9pm. The GP came at 9.30pm and issued us the Certificate of Cause of Death(CCOD). Then my dad went to the nearest police station to exchange for the Certificate of Death.

Remember to bring and provide the following with the CCOD:
1) The
deceased member’s IC
2) Are the
deceased member going to be burial or cremation?
3) Where will the
deceased member be locate?

After obtaining the Certificate of Death and finalised with the funeral arrangement, others left while some stayed to accompany my dead grandma. This was because it was late and funeral arrangement could only be carry out on next day. We were unable to sleep and took turn to burn her some insane paper...

The funeral last for 7days. It was a tired exhausted period.

Life was really unpredictable. Normally there no symptoms during the early stage of cancers. When we discovered, it the end. Checkup yearly? Ya, all of us understand that prevent is better then treatment
预防疗. However, it too costly for the checkup. A simple checkup cost about $90 while a full body checkup cost more then $500.

What do you suggest??

My aunt had passed away

My 4th aunt had passed away today at 3.25pm, at the age of 50 years old, due to lung cancer.

The news of her suffering from the last stage of lung cancer upon last month, Oct 2010. It happened so sudden and fast for each of us to get mental-prepared. My 4th aunt did not know that she had the cancer when she died.

Last month, she had visited a GP to treat her cough which lasted for months. Then she took a X-ray and her lungs were abnormal. She was asked to hospitalise immediately. 3 days later, she was discharged. Then a few days passed by, she was in hospital again because of stroke. And stayed in for a week. Discharged. Again, she was then hospitalised for the 3rd and last time.

At her 2nd visit, the doctor in-charged told us that she was in her last stage of lung cancer. And the cancer had scattered across the brain. This caused her stroke. Upon hearing the bad news, we cried and afraid that she would not be able to accept. Therefore, we told her bit by bit.

We let her knew that the thing inside her was bad, but need futher analysis. Before the report was out, she was then in the hospital for the 3rd time. She was unable to see and unconsciousness.

On 22th Nov 2010, her limbs turned black. She passed away the next day, 23 Nov 2010, at 3.25pm accompanied by my mom, auntie and uncle.

Thing happened so fast without you knowing. Appreciated what beside you, your family, your friends, and whatever you care. Never regret.

My First Home; My First Asset

"My first home; my first asset" held by HDB last Saturday. Peanut and I had got registered online 1 weeks ago. It was overwhelming and we almost can't get ourselves in, cause when I went back to test if I could help my friends registered, it was fully occupied.

When we reach there, there was just a few of them around queuing up for registration. After that, we proceed to the hall. More and more people were walking in, finding seats in front. The hall was as big as those theater hall in POLY. I guessed there were almost hundred of them.

The initial speech should last for 11/2hours. However, it exceed by half-and-hour more. But we left at the end of 2nd speech which was regard to the Financing for Home. Meanwhile, the 3rd speech began with Environment and your Neighborhood, I think.

Overall, I think it help abit for me in knowing more about buying a HDB/DBSS/EC. Doesn't gain much though, cause I had research a lot online and through HDB website. Thus, the presentation was for basic understanding.

Fortunately, there were staffs waiting outside the hall who could replied to our concern. So it was still worth going to find out about HDB flat directly from them.

Free DIAMONDS from GoldHeart

GoldHeart is giving out 360 pieces of diamonds from 31th April till 2nd May. 120pieces of diamonds ranging from 0.08carat to 0.15carat out for grab each day. And I managed to get 1 of them.

Today, I worked non-stop till 4.30am in the office with my bunch of colleagues from yesterday night. Then I placed myself on my bed in 5am and thought that I should forget about getting the diamond as I was pretty tired and exhausted. However, my mental alarm clock doesn't sympathize me. I woke up 8am in the morning. Therefore, I decided to try my luck and managed to reach Orchard before 9am. The event was held at Orhard, International plaza which is located near Lido.

I queued up for a total of 3 and 1/2 hours to had the diamond placed onto my hands. Haha! It was the first time I had the diamond, the shinning little 0.15carat stone. Wao, it looked so big and sparkling to me. :)

Meanwhile, the saleman would showed you that the diamond was real and good by testing with a machine pen. Then you have the choice of making it into a ring or pendent with their special price. It costed $148 and $198 for the ring and $88 and $108 for the pendent with the use of 14K and 18k white gold respectively.

After considering, I made myself a ring which was paid by my mother and my boyfriend. Don't ask me why. Its a long story. :P The process of sealing the diamond onto the ring need a maximum waiting time of 6 weeks due to overwhelmed response. Its deem long...等你等到我心痛 :(

Oriental @ Ngee Ann City

I got a voucher for free trial treatment from Jean Yip promotion. Last year Dec, I joined their Open House for the new facial treatment R6 Skin Revolution. As a appreciation, they gave a bag of gift for those who participate.Inside, there were perfume, book cover and a few vouches for treatment at Jean Yip. And in the end, I spent $38++ to givr a try on the R6.

Those vouchers had the expiry date on. Therefore, I book a appointment to Oriental Hair Solution (东方生发堂) for my 1st free treatment.

There is only a branch located at Ngee Ann City. When I stepped in at 6.45pm, I was served by a lady consultant Agnes Li. After the chit chat consulting, she told me that I had 2 problem with my hair. 1, impurites on my scalp. Which mean it would block my holes and dandruff occur. 2, my white hair. I'm now 22years-old but have quit alot of white hair hidden. Perhaps I was inherited. But she said that I would need 2years time to treat my white hair and I could only choose have 1 treament now.

After considering, I chose to have clean off those impurites as I could dye my white hair. Then the treament proceed...
1st, she applied their shampoo and wash off. She said that it could help to clean the impurites off the scalp.
2nd, after washing she apply another solution for deep cleaning. Can't remember what that for. It had a cooling cold effect with a hat covering my head. The machine kept on releasing cool air...I think is some sort of Oxygen treament. I love this step. So relaxing and cooling.
3rd, 20-30mins passed. She removed the hat and start to scalp my. she had to scalp harder to remove them. But still ok, it doesn't hurt.
4th, she washed off the solution and blow my hair till dry. Then give me head massage.

Overall, I did enjoyed their service and had a nice experience.
